Witch’s Hat Recipe


Treat your little ghosts and goblins to a sweet recipe this week in preparation of this weekend’s main event of Halloween. This recipe be the perfect midweek reward. The kids may want to get in on the prep by dipping the waffle cones. Enjoy!

  1. 1 (16-ounce) package chocolate-flavored candy coating*
  2. 4 (3-inch-round) waffle cookies
  3. 4 ice-cream cones
  4. 4 scoops chocolate ice cream
  5. 1/4 cup bittersweet chocolate shavings
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt candy coating according to package directions. Dip waffle cookies into melted candy coating, allowing excess to drip off. Place on prepared pan.
  3. Using a spoon, spread melted candy coating up sides and over tops of ice-cream cones. Place cones on top of waffle cookies to make “hats.” Let cool completely.
  4. Place a scoop of ice cream in a serving dish. Sprinkle chocolate shavings around ice cream. Top with ice-cream-cone hat. Repeat with remaining ice cream, chocolate shavings, and hats. Serve immediately.
