A Vintage Farmhouse Baby Shower

Friends and family gathered at the home of Julie Thomas, creator of the Little Farmstead blog, to celebrate the arrival of a friend’s new baby. To shower the expectant mother, and her soon-to-be baby girl, Julie decorated her home in pastels and greeted guests with beautiful blooms from around the home’s exterior. “My hope was to create a simple, but special, backdrop where people would feel welcome and relaxed as we celebrated this gift of a new life,” Julie says.

FEMININE FEEL: To celebrate the baby girl, the color palette for the shower was white, pale pinks and blues, with a touch of gold.

PERSONAL TOUCH: Small details, like this framed quote, added a personal touch to the shower.

SOMETHING OLD: To help create a nostalgic feel, a 100-year-old cradle, filled with flowers, welcomed guests to the porch and vintage baby dresses and shoes were hung from a clothesline above the serving table.
