Today we are sharing a precious pony party from Sara of The Homespun Hostess. Sara planned this equestrian celebration for her daughter Annabelle’s 5th birthday who loves all things pony!

Details we love:

  • Annabelle’s toy horses incorporated into the tablescape
  • Basket lunches for the girls
  • “Best In Show” ribbons {Editor’s Pick}
  • Pink ruffle cake

 “We chose a classic pink and brown color palette. We used a lot of pink florals to keep it soft and girly,” said Sara.

To carry the pony theme into the dessert table, Sara used her daughter’s favorite American Girl horses, horse shaped sweets, and pink and brown ribbons.

 There were plenty of sweets for the celebration, including these chocolate cupcakes with festive toppers. Sara’s sister made a gorgeous pink cake with ruffle details and pink ombre inside. Atop the cake was one of Annabelle’s favorite pony figurines.

 Each guest had her own picnic basket with Southern chicken biscuits, grapes, and pink lemonade.

 Kentucky Pies (Sara’s version of the classic derby pie) served in jars were an absolute hit. She also provided chips, fruit, and chicken salad croissants for the adults.

Pink and brown striped straws were perfect for the sweet tea and lemonade. As a favor, Sara gave each guest a horse soap and a canvas horse bag.

 No pony party is complete without pony rides! Guests had a blast riding the ponies and feeding them apples. There was also a “Pin the Tail on the Pony” game set up.

Another favorite activity was the pony piñata.
