From the time we are little girls, we love receiving invitations to special parties. This year, why not gather and celebrate mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and sisters with a lovely springtime luncheon for all ages?
WHAT TO GATHER
a covered work surface; several used books (the wider the book, the larger the finished flower) with covers removed but spines intact; spray paint in coordinating colors; clear fishing line to secure the finished flowers; coordinating ribbon to cover the fishing line; scissors
Step 1: In groups of 20 to 25, tuck pages toward the book’s spine, working your way to the end, to create a circle that resembles a flower’s petal.
Step 2: Tie a length of fishing line around the “flower” to secure, trimming any excess fishing line.
Step 3: Apply one or two coats of spray paint in coordinating colors. Allow to dry.
Step 4: Tie a length of coordinating ribbon around each “flower” to cover fishing line. Note: For varying heights, have an office-services or copy shop use their bulk paper cutter to chop the books (crosswise) into smaller sections.
