A Southern blogger, author, and stylist inspires us with two modern Halloween party ideas.
A love for hosting dinner parties in Nashville during her 20s inspired Courtney Whitmore to leave her full-time job to launch a successful entertaining blog. “ I love the words ‘pizzazz,’ and ‘patisserie,’ so I merged them to create ‘pizzazzerie!’” Courtney says. “My inspiration and creativity come from a love of color, pattern, and lots of brainstorming with my talented mom, who has been designing tablescapes for years. I grew up watching her create craft and party ideas for magazines, so the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Maybe Courtney’s daughter, Blakely, lovingly referred to as #babypizzazzerie on Instagram, will follow in those same footsteps.
Her love for presenting classic Southern foods with a modern twist and for setting a table with plenty of pizzazz has garnered a large following for Courtney that is constantly motivating her to come up with fresh, new ideas. In addition to sharing entertaining inspiration daily on her blog, she was thrilled to have regular segments on Nashville’s NBC affiliate and a book deal for her first cookbook, Push-Up Pops, just four months after starting her business. Two more books quickly followed, Candy Making for Kids and Frostings.
Today Courtney stays busy with her husband and daughter in Nashville, and still finds time to style party tablescapes and food for brands like Target, Lindt chocolatiers, HGTV, Michaels, Tostitos, Pepperidge Farm, and Martha Stewart Weddings. Her work has been featured in numerous publications. She’s also a contributor to Parade magazine and The Huffington Post. Courtney shows us how she celebrates Halloween with two fun-filled parties.
