Ingredients
  1. 3 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1⁄2 cup buttermilk
  4. 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  5. 1 tablespoon vodka
  6. Dark Chocolate Cookies (recipe follows)
Instructions
  1. In the container of a blender, combine strawberries and next four ingredients; puree until smooth. Push mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl, discarding solids. Freeze in an ice cream freezer according to manufacturer’s instructions. Spoon mixture into an airtight container, and freeze for at least 12 hours.
  2. Place one scoop sorbet on flat side of half of cookies. Cover with flat side of remaining cookies to make a sandwich. Wrap each tightly in plastic wrap, and freeze for at least 1 hour before serving.

Ingredients
  1. 3⁄4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  2. 3⁄4 cup sugar
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  6. 3⁄4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  7. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  8. 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  9. 1⁄2 cup bittersweet chocolate morsels
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325°. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with a mixer at high speed until creamy. Reduce speed to medium, and add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla, beating until combined. In a small bowl, combine flour and next 3 ingredients. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating until combined. Stir in chocolate morsels.
  3. Drop dough by 2 teaspoonfuls onto prepared pans, and slightly flatten. Bake for 15 minutes. Let cool on pans for 5 minutes. Remove from pans, and let cool completely on wire racks.
